TRACTOR WIRING

Do you think with a few wraps of tape that these joints will be all right or should I just go ahead and spring for some new wire??
This is just another reason why I'm taking this Case 444 apart to find out just what the old hippie did before he sold it to me. He said he just overhauled the engine. He used 5/16" carriage bolts to hold the engine on and forgot to tighten the nuts that hold the carb on. I plan to take the engine apart too. Found a broken gear in the transmission too also found that the spider in the Lovejoy coupling was half the size it should be.
It's the tractor in the foreground.

That you plan on taking the engine apart, I would wait until it's out, then you can get to the wiring to inspect and replace what is necessary. If the factory wiring is still good, no need to replace it. But where it's been damaged, yes, new wire is always better than splicing. Especially on something simple where you can easily replace the whole wire.
