Way, way OT-chair covers?

Can anyone recommend a reputable firm selling good quality chair covers? My ancient leather recliner is really showing it's age and if I don't get some protection on it I'm going to loose the old girl. Duct tape is definitely not going over good with SWMBO. So far all I've seen are cheapies from China in the catalogs my wife gets.

Any suggestions? I can't be the only one with this problem.

Anyone local that does upholstery???? I have had them make me covers for some of my older chairs. Actually if your not stuck on keeping it leather having the chair recovered is not that bad. Usually around $100-150.

Find an upholsterer and have them redo it. I have had a chair done at least once because they told me the chair frame was Better than a new one.

Recliners need to move a lot of large pieces: the back, the seat and the foot rest all move relative to the arm rests and chair frame. A one piece cover for a recliner will be difficult, unless you cover the whole thing with a blanket. Reupholstering works very well, but will cost about half the cost of a new chair and your favorite chair could be in the shop for several weeks. If you want to keep both SWMBO and yourself happy start shopping for a new recliner. I like my big overstuffed LazyBoy recliner. It's 20 years old and still looks looks good and works good.

Wife got two of these fleece lined on the back from QVC-- washable, been washed numerous times. She says they have different kinds, don't know about leather recliners. The side I turned up has pockets.
