2n distributor weights

I am replacing points and cond., the advance weights are sloppy, how can I tell if they are working properly? Thanks, Smokey
ps do I have to remove them for inspection?

I've always had better success with taking them apart.

Usually by the time the pins and weights are giving trouble, it's time to disassemble everything, clean the rust out, lube everything up. Then you can make the decision on what to replace. The springs also tend to rust and wear, best to replace before they break and fall down in the housing.
