Ford 600 tool box

Was there a "normal" place for the tool box on the Ford 600? The used tractor we got has it mounted on the right side (spark plug side) of the hood. Kind of a bummer. I've seen some on the fender and the 8N's seem to mount on the side of the engine.

This toolbox is in rough shape, so I need to weld it back together if there is enough metal to work with....

Just kind of wondered where they usually hang on the tractor. thanks, Moday

Yup, behind the brakes/ foot board is what I thought all 100 series had. Dang tiny toolbox too.....

Now that you guys say that, I've seen them there too....

Mine was on the hood closer to the back than the front so now I have some extra hood holes to fill with weld or something.

When under the foot rest, I assume they use some bolts for that? The back of my tool box is about gone so I wonder if instead of a repair, someone had the idea to use the hood as the new "back" of the tool box since the metal was over 70% gone....

I'll google search some 100 series tractors and maybe I'll get a better feel for mounting process.

Not sure if there is a factory location for a tool box on the Fords and I'm not disputing others
Of the various tractors I've run over the yrs most tool boxes were mounted to the fender beside the seat
My 2 AC WD's have them on the left fender and all the others are on the right fender
All mounted just below the bottom of the seat
Works for me and the bonus is as I don't carry to much in them I can also use them for drink holders
You can see it in the pic on my 53 WD

Just throw the rusty one away. The original one was on the left behind the clutch pedals some have said. Just get you a nice new box and mount on left fender and stock it well as you need tools on a Ford if it is like my 800

Built in the left foot board not one just mounted but actually formed in and welded in when made with the lid being part of the foot board like on the NAA and the way they were made most were rusted away and the lid welded to make a solid foot board. Just get you a universal box and mount on left fender so the lift arms clear, on the right side the crank for the lift arm would interfere.
