VERMEER 504H IS NOT TYING

I HAVE A VERMEER 504H AND IT WILL NOT TIE OFF ON THE END. I AM FARELY NEW TO FARMING AND I BOUGHT A USED ROUND BALER. I HAVE CHANGED OUT BELTS AND BEARINGS AND HAVE DONE OVER 100 BALES WITH IT ALREADY BUT THE TWINE IS NOT TYING OFF. ANY IDEA WHY. ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED.

BACK TRACK ON THAT .
THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE BALE IS PUFFY AND THE STRING SLIPS OFF THE END, EVEN IF THE ARM IS ADJUSTED FURTHER IN. ANY IDEA WHY IT IS DOING THAT.

It may be that there is not enough tension on the twine or perhaps your twine knife is not sharp. However, you say that the bale is fluffy on the knife end which may be caused by uneven feeding or your belts are not all the same length. The twine just wraps the bale, it does not make it firmer.

Welcome to YT
As previously stated bale is wrapped but twine isn't tied. My guess is you're not crowding edge of windrow which will make outside edge of bale loose. Are your hay bales level or in the shape of a whiskey barrel??

Is there a bolt on the base of the twine arm to make it stop sooner or later?

Might just be a lack of experience where you're getting too much or to little material in that end of the bale.

First off as others have said bale shape.
When making a bale you have to focus on the ends and ignore the middle, it will take care of itself.
If you do not form a good bale the string will not change it.
Assuming your baler has manual control for the twine arm.
Engage the twine.
Apply 3-4 wraps on the end then work your way across to the other end as you normally would.
Let it wrap 3-4 wraps on the other end then move the twine arm back to the middle of the bale.
Let it go a turn or two then extend the arm to the cut position
This will place the loose end near the center instead of the end.
Keep the fittings for the arm greased.
Keep the knife sharp.
If it is not cutting properly you may need to make a small adjustment to the bolt with the washer on the end that contacts the upper end of the twine tube when you move it to the cut position.
There are a couple of nuts you can move to adjust the position of the washer/plate.
For the tiny adjustment it usually needs a small tap with a hammer is enough to square things up.
If the twine is loose across the entire bale you may need a little more tension on the plates that create drag on the twine in the twine box.
You mentioned you changed some belts.
Having them all sized the same is very important.
Yours probably has the hydraulic cylinder and gauge on top for bale tension, is it building good pressure when making a bale?

I agree with the other poster's comments,, I have a question,, you say its not "tying off" do you mean its not staring to pull in the twine ,, it is not cutting it off after it has tied,,, if its not cutting it off when done it can be a couple things depending on what type of tie system you have,,, if the cutting blade is dull it will not cut it when done properly,, sharpen or replace the blade if this is the case,, not starting can be helped by starting the tie while still feeding in material,, this is if you are making a "correct bale"

I have a 605F that has never been adjusted to cut the twine off after it wraps a bale. Since I only make 60-70 a year I just get out and cut it
myself. Good exercise. Probably should bother to adjust it some day, the blade isn't sharp and the little disc that should clamp the twine isn't set
right to clamp it.

Not sure I understand your problem tho, a round baler doesn't really 'tie' twine it just wraps it around.

Sounds like you are having issues forming a good solid bale maybe, not a twine issue at all? Need to crowd the hay to one side, thrn the other
side, as you make a bale on these older balers, so the outside edges fill. The middle nearly always fills plenty in between. Weave back and
forth as you bale. An outside belt the wrong length can create issues as well.

Little confused on what the issue is so hard to help.
