Got away with family to Houston for a few days, supposed to be in 80s here, 30s back in Iowa.

16 1/2 hours, Cedar Rapids to Houston.

Where you at?

We came down 45 from Dallas?

Drove this straight, KC to Dallas to Houston, will return a different way and stop overnight at Osage Beach MO, close to Old.

NOT so bad here in Iowa ... we are at 40 at 11am and if your not in the WIND it feels good

Living in eastern Nebraska, but having travelled to the west end of the Panhandle and beyond many times, I never fail to notice how much the weather and terrain both change over the 450 miles from Omaha to Sidney and Scottsbluff.

Even traffic. Going west, it's noticeable how much the traffic thins out west of Grand Island, and gets thinner going farther west.

I live in Centerville. It is the half way point between Dallas and Houston.Do part time work for Centerville feed store

Well I could meet you at the gas station if you stop for gas. If you keep going watch out for speed traps. Once you pass Ennis. The highway to Dallas is full of them. Palmer is the worst. Hides by or on top of the overpass. Loves to stop out of state folks. Wilmer and Hutchins are next. Just stay under the speed limit.

I am hoping the cops are all hung over on the 1st, will probably just wave, can make it from Houston to OK on tank.

Well if you see a truck on the hill. Coming into Centerville. That will be me. I park there and watch the show on the highway. Plenty of idiots to watch. I don't think the guy in Palmer ever sleeps.

Wonder how many Kansas's got stopped going home. They played Texas A-M last night in Houston.
