As I was driving down our road, the fellow that hunts our property flagged me down.He went back in his house and came out with a bag of deer meat. Some roasts and steaks frozen,,some ring bologna, some summer sausage and some slim jims. All of it vaccum packed.I said we dont need that much,,he insisted,,and said thanks so much for letting me hunt.Him and an older friend of his got three deer in our woods. This is the same fellow that helped me shovel off the snow off the roof last year, and put the electrical boxes in my little shop. Maggie and I ate some slim jims,,they were goooood!

Nice to see a nice post about us hunters for a change. Looks like you have a good guy hunting your property.

Take those roasts and smoke them. Do not use a heavy smoke on them. I did some this year at Christmas and that is the only way I will do the roast anymore

I'm always surprised and quite pleased when someone who uses my land to access public lands offers me some of their game.

MMMMMMMMMMMmm good. If you happen to still have some left on one of my RV tours your way Id sure appreciate some of that (plus full RV hookups on your farm) cuz remember if you come to Indiana ID DO IT FOR YOU and FLOLDFORD feeds me knowin I get by on an old age pension lol !!!!!!

Sort of the reverse of your situation. A friend who lives in Arkansas always comes up to bow hunt his fathers land. His father lives in Texas. We usually help him out with a camper to live in and a place to clean up before he goes home. A year ago he got an 8 point buck and a smaller buck. I went with my Polaris six wheeler to pick them up for him. When he got ready to leave he gave us a ticket for the deer he had taken to the locker plant which did the butchering and processing of the 8 pointer. Must have cost over $100 to get it processed. Up here in the CWD zone all deer must be deboned. Last season he left $50 in the camper for each of us.

We keep telling him that we don't want anything for our help. After all, we do hunt the land during the rifle season.

luckily the older hunter does all this processing, and even the slim jims.Otherwise it would cost the hunter a lot of money,,and I wouldnt take it from him,The older hunter got two deer with the bow,,and was very happy. He made and packaged all the meat,,and is really good at it!

I would be happy too. Good score. I do some machine work for a friend and his son and they always have a package of some sort of deer for me, sausage, burger, loin, etc. I like the deal.
