Does Anyone Know What This Is??????

I know, it's a disc. But what make? I bought it on a consignment auction yesterday, and I can find absolutely no markings on it. It was red originally. I paid $300 for it, and the almost new hydraulic cylinder that came with it is worth half of that.

A machinery scalper friend of mine who was at the auction thought maybe a Kewanee. The only markings I could find are the part numbers "PB3809" on the bearings. Several of the bearings look almost new, so what ever it is parts must still be available.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Yes, it is a Kewanee. The model number will be the number of blades on one axle, such as 8, 9, 10, 11. I have a parts book from when my dad was a dealer.

I pulled one like her into the midnite hours more times than not. That bologna lettuce and cheese sandwich with a cup of coffee never tasted so good. Pulled her with a superM , CM

I bought it to work down ground where I'm having trees removed.

I'll probably pull it with my D19 Allis Chalmers, although I might try my M on it. Both need a good workout once.

It's an IH 35 or 35A. It is NOT a Kewanee. The PB bearing cap number is an IH number. IIRC, the number is PB3089, though. An IHC logo is probably on these caps somewhere. The hydraulic hose holder is the IH style of this time period. There should be a part number on the cast screw-in plug in the spring. You may not find any part numbers elsewhere than on these plugs and on the bearings. The crank handle and trunion may have part numbers on them. Spools and the gang end washers may have had a part number on them, but they may also be worn off.

Bearings are still available from CIH last I checked, but they are very expensive for all 3 pieces (top cap, spool, bottom cap).

Here's a link to another topic with some similar guesses on who made the same disc...http://forums.yesterdaystractors.com/viewtopic.php?t=1221123&highlight=disc
