Friend of mine passed away unexpectedly late
last year.Family started selling some of his
fifty year collection of equipment and misc
stuff. He has a nice collection of
tractors,Deere 720,3020,4020 diesels and a
couple newer Deeres from the eighties, some
older Deeres from the forties.A real nice
Case 700 diesel and lots of farm equipment.I
picked up a decent Deere discbine moco and a
Deere round baler that needs work.I think he
would be happy some of his stuff was going
to a good home. This will be a nice addition
to my haying operation.

Looks good! I would like to be there when you try to make bales with that JD 410 baler. Remember me while you are cursing the thing.

JD 410 rd baler was JD's 2nd attempt at manufacturing a rd baler. It has a closed throat, bottom belts & only spring tension. I think $750-$1000 is what I would think it's worth. It also has no bale monitor & no auto twine wrap as wrap is hyd controlled so tractor needs 2 sets of scv's

Nice to get a deal even if it is under unfortunate conditions. Nice mower conditioner. Jury still out on the baler. LOL. I'm looking for another tractor and I am close to you I think. E-mail me about the tractors if you would.

That JD 410 baler Will only bale hay if it is BONE dry and even then you can have trouble making it start a bale. You will really need to learn how to make it bale and that may not work all of the time.

I ran Vermeer until JD brought out the 435/535 balers. Prior to that JD did not have a very good baler.

I currently don't do any round baling.I did get a very good deal on both pieces of equipment tho.If I do any round baling maybe I'll get a better one.Thank's for info everyone.

had two different 410s and 2 510s.. the later wide belt versions worked much better.. but too wet or two dry and they would wrap around the rollers... and starting a bale was reserved for only those who could perform black magic... And when you plugged it... it was 6 hours to unplug one... and dont think about ever leaving a bale in the chamber for more than 10 seconds as the scraper blades were red hot and you had instant smoke and then fire...

How ever all that aside, i baled many years with them and had great success if careful..

and yes, the bale were not that tight but ok... New balers are so tight that the loader tractors have trouble when bales are just out of the baler. cant stab/penetrate the bales due too tight, and cant pick up due to weight.
