Today is the fiftieth anniversary of ?Pardo Push?. Captain Robert Pardo saved his wingman from ejecting from his crippled aircraft over hostile North Vietnam during the Vietnam war. He accomplished this by pushing the crippled F4 Phantom fighter with his Phantom. Thus the ?Pardo Push?. Story and Demo attached. I recognize this anniversary from serving on the same base, though two years later, and of maintaining the Phantoms while stationed there.
Story of Push

Yes, thank you!

I remember hearing about the Pardo Push from when I was in EAA (Experimental Aircraft Asso.) but never really understood everything involved. This is truly a story worthy of sharing.

Thank you for posting this.
It brought tears to my eyes.
This man is a real hero, not just in his military career but his whole life!
I was a kid during the Vietnam mess. I remember my parents saying how bad the
soldiers were treated, not only by the enemy but by their own leaders and country.
The thought of court marshaling this hero is absurd. The commander that came up
with that idea should of been court marshaled.
Any kid that says a sports figure or celebrity is their hero should be forced to
watch this video.
My daughters are going to watch it tonight.
