Combine In March

No, I don't think the big John Deere combine I passed was going to combine yet but likely in transit from point a to b for other reasons today. While there are still fields of last year's crops to harvest, there are also still snowbanks around. The ground still frozen a few inches down under the mud. Maybe in a couple of weeks things will look different.

Maybe that combine was a repo. I remember that I had to do some repo's about this time of the year, back in the day.

Are those woods going to be farmland or just allowed to grow back?

I saw a sale bill last night with a combine on it,said "picked corn this spring". There's still some standing here and there. Terrible wet fall prevented harvest.

Looks like a 9650,60 or70 series with a pickup head. Probably been traded off or going to an auction.

(quoted from post at 05:18:38 03/25/17) That's a T670, not a S model. Its made overseas.
I won't claim to be an authority on JD combine models but I've never heard of a T model combine in that series. This looked fairly typical of the S series I've seen around. Plus when I did a freeze frame on the original video it sure looked like S670..

Pretty sure if it was a rep it would have been on a trailer. Too far to the dealers to drive all the way. Probably a farmer bringing home a new(er) machine.
The tree line along the fence that is being cleared won't be any use to us as you can't put a rubber tired tractor into all those chewed up poplar splinters. Plus all the roots are still in the ground and I don't have an implement that will touch that.

Seems the forum won't let me edit my posts but I've done a little more research and found that , yes, JD does make a T670 combine. Plus,
after doing another freeze frame on the video that first letter could easily be a "T". Pretty blurry at that speed. Anyway, I've learned
something new about JD combines here today.

T670 is a Walker model. That's what people buy here, rotaries are not popular here at all. A walker combine can keep going when the crop gets tough better than a rotary, at least that's what I've been told. My old 4400 plugs up when it gets tough anyway.
