Engines for cokshutt diesel 50

I think they had a 262. But all are the same bolt pattern. A 301 from a L2 down to a 262 from D17 diesel.

The 6BD230 was in the 40 not the 50. That said I beleive they are the same block and the Allis WD45 Diesal also uses that same engine family.

Allis Bought out Buda and used a very similiar version that will pretty much be a drop in in the D17 and D19.

The 50 had the 273 Buda and the 40 had the 230. Physical dimensions are the same and they can be interchanged easily. We ran a 40 with a 50 engine for years. I even swapped the Perkins diesel in another 40 out for a Buda 273. Bolts right up no problem.

Sorry thought name wilson ind would tell most. Precisely greene county ind road 600 north 3/4 mile east of county 1000 west. You got anything that will fit? All help appreciated.

Thank you I never knew about the 301. As I previously said engine size is not important as fit is, I do know differences in sleeve and cast in block and cubic inch , however running at reasonable cost is what matters . Per your information I will go to the large combine salvage yard about 100 miles north and check on combine engines. Again thanks to all who took time to reply.

Wilson What is wrong with your engine could it be rebuilt? Go down to the Oliver forum there are some places that do cockshutt. Phil Hisey or some such in PA.
