Craigslist brings out some of the best and the worst. I just got off the phone with a seller who has a four-wheeler advertised for "$800 or best offer." I offered him $700 and he got angry and said his price is "firm." I asked why did he put "or best offer" in his ad and he hung up on me. ???

Or, they could just be stupid.

Wouldn't be the first time someone didn't know what "OBO" meant, and just put it in the ad because they saw it in other ads.

Called on an item one time, and a young girl (probably 7 or 8) answered the phone. When I asked he about the price, she said "My dad said the most we'll take is $400, and the least we'll take is $300." I heard laughter in the background, and Dad was still laughing when he came on the line. I thanked him for not raising cain with her, and he said life's too short to get upset over a few bucks.

A few years ago, our daughter came across a newspaper ad that said, "Buy one hot dog for the price of two and get a second hot dog absolutely free".

Huh?

I'd guess there were people who actually went for it, thinking they'd gotten a free hot dog.
