Help Needed to Identify this

I picked up this old farm antique today at a tractor show, they said it was a stalk cutter but I would like to know how old it is and anything about it. I bought it to cut the bad ends off ears of corn. All I see is "Clipper" on each side and in front of the knife, only other numbers are part numbers.

We had one in the feed manger in the barn we milked cows, during the late Summer we cut some green corn and cut it up with it into pieces about an inch or so long and give it to the cows
while they were being milked.Could cut about 10 or 12 stalks at a time and the cows loved it.
