I have 4. They're going to go broke replacing the numbers that will surface. I have two more that didn't qualify.
They for all practical purposes are identical to the others, except older. Going to watch for a good sale, and replace
out all the old ones around here.

If older maybe they have metal valves instead of plastic?
It will definitely be a bunch. 1973 - 2017. 44 years worth.

I've got a new in box small extinguisher here I bought within the last five years so I'm guessing it will be included in the list of recalled
items. I haven't been able to check their list yet but my date code number is 0313071135.

Royse-Thanks for posting. My old 1987 extinguisher is being replaced by a new one.

I took a brief look last night and I have 1 with plastic handle likely have more. This weekend I'll be checking the numbers.
Kidde may end up like Takata (air bag recall)--bankrupt !

One of the biggest problems with ABC extinguishers is hanging them on
the wall or setting them on the floor. Now let that sink in a second.
The powder settles and compresses in the bottom over time. You grab it
and pull the trigger....nothing. Once or twice a year take your
extinguisher and turn it upside down and thump it and shake it till
you can feel the powder moving around really well. This is why
commercial extinguishers are replaced every two or three years.
Nothing like needing one and it doesn't work. Wish you could still get
the Haylon type.

You can still get them, but instead of $20 or $30 they cost $130.
