I built the harrow attachment on the back it makes
a nice seedbed I broke it several years ago trying
to disc some crp ground hit a rock and broke a disc
It?s been parked since but I need to disc a field to
chop up some weeds If it ever dries this fall If it
doesn?t I guess we?ll try it again in the spring

Yes! Dad only had a 12 ft Kewanee disk behind a 450 Farmall. I'd run in 4th gear in some flatter fields disking corn stalks, 6-1/2 mph, in hills 3rd gear,(l( something just a bit over 5 mph. Plowed ground everywhere in 3rd. When he stepped up to the 4010-D I ran 5th everywhere in old corn ground or plowed ground, about 5-1/2 mph. Some idiot that didn't know what they were doing tried to turn up the pump and had it running wide open on 3 cylinders and about half throttle on the other three, making about 65-70 hp, same as a 3020. The idiot self proclaimed Best Deere mechanic in the midwest who tuned it up as soon as Dad bought it never dyno'd it and didn't catch it. Guy that did R&D work for M&W came out one night and rebuilt the pump and set it for 100-105 hp. It would blow fire out the muffler a foot then. Could pull that little disk in 7th gear! And about 50 hours later blew the head gasket!

Yes, shift UP at least one, maybe 2 gears. We ALWAYS ran duals on the tractor when disking. I only remember one day disking stalks before plowing without duals with the 450. Tractor rides better, much better traction. We never drove on plowed ground with anything unless it had duals.
