Last year while traveling through Shamrock Tx,They had 50lb sacks of "Deer Corn" for $20.00/sack at the at gas station......It had a very nice picture of a big buck on the front of the sack.

In canada --- well at least manitoba it is illegal to bait deer. The conservation officer will inspect the site and if deer prints are found it is grounds for a fine (after an investigation). The one I reported finding he didnt have time to do surveillance -- he confronted the idiot in the blind and then contaminated the pile of grain with some kind of repellent . He said the hunter was very unhappy to see him there . I wished I could have been a fly on the wall during that conversation.

My uncle sells ear corn to the co-op, bagged into thier bags, for I think 6.50 or 7 each. The bags are the 100 lbs feed sack. I'm not sure what cob corn weighs up to in that size bag but I doubt it's 100 lbs. He says it's the best money he has ever made on ear corn.

The local feed store here sells corn by the 100# bag. A guy backed up to the ramp and asked if he could get it in two 50# bags instead; warehouse guy looked at the truck bed and said "If you can lift that keg of beer you can lift this bag of corn", tossed the bag into the truck and walked away.

Take a closer look at the bag. That's EAR corn!

If you're willing to buy the bags, fill the bags, handle the bags, find retail outlets to handle your product, you too can make $30 per bushel. A lot of that $30 goes into packaging, shipping, and marketing, so you really don't end up with that much when all is said and done.

I know it is ear corn-that is why I went 10 times the price instead of 7!!!!!! 7 x 8 = 56-bu. of shelled corn. 7 x 10 = 70-bu. of ear corn-Da---Tee
