Struck out at the auction today

I did not need anything but I thought if a few things went right I would snag them. First up was a set of transport wheels off of a wing type rotary cutter but I only wanted the set for one 5.9 X 15 tire of which the set brought more than that. Next was a pair of IH bale throwers of which I wanted the vintage IH cylinder and part of the PTO driveline but went for double what I had budgeted. Last was a NH 26 blower which I wanted to use to fan trash away from the soybeans as they came out of the rotary screen at the bin. Sold for 110 dollars. Older blowers are now a dime a dozen so I will wait for anther sale. I am not saying the stuff went for outrageous money but just more than I could justify spending based on need. A farmer I knew always said days like this happen so you are ready when something you like better comes along at the next sale.

I have decided how much I was willing to give, and went home empty handed several times. But then I decided I don't have time to go to a whole bunch of auctions, so I bite the bullet sometimes and just buy it and be done with it. gobble

I went to an auction a week ago because I was interested in an Oliver 880. As usual, it was almost the very last thing to sell. As usual, I went home without getting what I went to the auction to buy.

In the Spring everyone wants to hit an auction and buy something they think they need, Summer when its 95 degrees, high humidity and field work is in swing bargains can be bought and usually sales from first of Oct up to Christmas the cheapest of the year.

made 3 auctions in 3 weeks with zip where is the money coming from----people are giving more than they could, get it at the dealers
