The Latest Snow

Last night's snowfall amounted to maybe ten inches of new light and dry snow. I didn't bother to move any as it is not quite over yet and once the wind gets up a lot of it will blow away and form drifts. I did have to get out with the Massey and put a bale of hay in the cattle feeder. Snow nearly reaching the bottom of the front axle in places. The drawbar was dragging in snow at times but had no problems getting the job done. Dry snow so good traction. Whole different story if it was ten degrees warmer.

The old Super 90 performed well in this deep snow. Working on some video from this morning as I was dragging the Gopro camera along with me. Almost lost it in the snow.

Barely freezing here rusty, and our snow
last night was wet and heavy... Maybe got
8 inches, pushed a road to the highway, a
half mile, and got stuck several times,
100 horse features tractor, not going to
be much fun for the next few days.

Ours is heavy and wet also. Haven't even messed with going outside today as the wind is still whipping wildly. Local post office said there's 10" there and, with the wind, there's likely lots of roads blocked by drifting.

Stepped outside last night during a lull and the side of the house had about 2" plastered all over. Still a hair above freezing, so will wait until the temps drop into the 20's before firing up the plow truck.

Supposed to get snow Wed. night in SJ. Sloppy or dry. Just a little to
possible of 6 inches. Will see what happens.

rusty is that moose hanging in the grainry still froze?? if it starts to warm up let me know and i'll zip right down to pic up a quarter

Here in E ND got about 15" of wet heavy sticky mess. Got the first layer mostly moved out of the way this morning. Need to make another round this evening. Worst part is it had been warm enough for a couple
days that the top of the ground is thawed into mush.

That moose meat is still live on the hoof out there plowing through the snow. I guess they handle this deep snow better than we do. I'm tired from staggering through deep snow carrying pails. Still snowing and drifting too out in the open. Think I might try to clear some of it tomorrow but I'm done for today.

Our snow is dry and fluffy, too so it'll be easy blowing. The supper weather said we got between 25 and 35 cm - I figured about 10 inches around the yard. I was going to go out and start blowing after dinner but it started up again - should be able to go after it tomorrow. I'll probably have to also clear a couple neighbours' yards I'm looking after while they're away. Lots of quality time coming up with the green tractor.
:(

No I have a Farm King blower on the back of the Deere. This snow should blow fairly easy. Sometimes when the snow is wet the blower doesn't handle it too good so I use the 930 with the front end loader.
