I am looking at a M8540 Kubota Hydraulic shuttle. When I tested the tractor it had a hestitation when it was put into forward and reverse shuttle. Let the clutch out and it would be 3-5 seconds before it moved in forward and then the same when put in reverse. If the brakes were held when it was shifted it would be a little longer ,but would engage and stall the tractor. It does not seem to be slipping once it engages ,but has that long hestitation.. Is this normasl or can it be adjusted to more aggressive of a shift like some other tractors.

Did you try shifting without using the "clutch"? It dumps all your apply pressure, which has to build back up before it will move. Throttle down, shift and throttle up without using the clutch.

It hesitate with or without the clutch. Shifting from forward to reverse without the clutch has the same long hesitation

Lot of difference in 3 and 5 seconds. Three is about normal 5 is a little bit too long. Really no adjustment but letting it warm up good and trying it would be my suggestion. If it holds to five seconds I would suspect internal leaking in the clutch packs.

Cold oil makes it slow. I test drove an M6800 hyd shuttle several degrees below freezing, cold start engine and tractor hadn't run for a few days.

Shuttle was slower.

I find the M7040SU Hyd shuttle acts similar if oil is cold.
