Ford Paint Codes

Hi All -

I'm looking for a tailgate for my old work pickup - 2003 F250 - and the paint code on the door data plate shows L1. But I can't find that referenced for Ford models (during that time period or now).

It is a dark blue, but originally was a city pickup. Is it possible that was a custom paint job? Or are there just so many combinations, many codes are pretty rare??

A local salvage yard has a "blue" gate but he said his paint code is LD. Not sure how close or far that would be to L1.

in 2003 L1 Doesn't show as a good code There is a L2 which is (TRUE BLUE )

Ford does show a L1 Code which is called Performance Blue..

If I had the last 8 digits of your Vin Number I could check it out....

The tag says ?Ext Pnt: L1?, is what I was basing that on. Maybe I?m misinterpreting the data plate.

According to my Parts book your Trucks paint code is L2 ( TRUE BLUE )

That other trk is Wedgewood Blue ( WAY OFF )
