Today marks 46 years my wife has put up with me. We were best friends and both divorced and I was on orders for Ft. Wainwright Alaska. She had never been there and decided since the Gov't would pay her way up there she'd just marry me and after her vacation she'd just come on back home and get a divorce. She forgot to come home LOL. Well, one thing is still true, she's still my best friend and The Good Lord only knows how thankful I've been that she never came home without me. She had a son and I had 2 girls and since that day she's been mom to the girls and I've been dad to her son. I think I got the best of the deal and she just doesn't want to house train anybody else LOL.

Lotta "water under the bridge" in that time. Takes a commitment. Gotta overlook the trivia (baggage) and concentrate on what matters. Both of you have to "want to" make it work. Nice to have something left (hopefully) after the flock has left the nest. BTDT 49 ? yrs...she went to greener pastures.
 
Cool story Keith, always some interesting details with any marriage. Meanwhile for myself, if I was in a holding cell or caught doing something bad or arrived unexpectedly at the airport at 3:00 AM, I'd phone my best friend ........ BUT not my wife.
 

Congratulations on 46 years, I hope you have many more! My wife and I celebrated our 45 on the 19th. It takes a good marriage to make 46 years and I salute you and your wife!

I'll have to live to 110 to be able to say that. I sure do envy people that stick together and make it work. Congratulations.

Congratulations! Will be 45 for us in September. Makes you wonder how in the world they put up with us for that long, doesn't it????? (chuckle)
