Bad starter symptoms

On the 350 farmall I bought I've been using it quite a bit this week and it's been starting great but today I was mowing with it and left it sit for about a half hour when I was done and the starter just kinda buzzed. I left it set awhile longer with the battery charger on it and it fired up. Then I went and unhooked the mower and put it in the barn shut it off and tried to start it then it just buzzed again. The battery is new this year I'm thinking the starter is just week and plan on having it tested this week. Does this sound like that's it? It's a gas tractor but the widths 12v system with a generator

As Rusty say check all connection first. But also I would check battery voltage and make sure it is 12.5 plus. Anything less then 12.5 is a discharged battery and is low on volts which can cause odd problems. Also just because it is a new battery only means it is new but does not mean it is good I have bought more then one new battery just to take it back because it was bad from the get go

Does the amp meter show charging when running? Sounds like you have used up the charge the battery came with. Leave the charger on all night and see what happens. A voltmeter will tell you a lot.

Thanks for the quick replies! The volt meter doesn?t work I had the battery charger on it again for awhile and it didn?t make a difference so I
went got a good known battery from another tractor and it fired right up Andy I put the old battery in the other tractor and nothing so I will slow
charge it all day tomorrow and see what happpens with it thanks again I really appreciate it!

Now that it is running, be a good time to check the charging system.

If you have a volt meter, check across the battery with the engine up to 1500+RPM.

It should show around 14 volts.

Or if no volt meter, you can disconnect the ground cable at the engine, see if it keeps running. Note: That is a crude test and only allowable with a generator! If you have any transistor accessories, disconnect them before testing.

Also check the belt, be sure it is tight and not worn to the bottom of the pulley.
