In 1975 the John Deere Company released this song 'The Great American Farmer' which was written and recorded by Ralph Harrison.
It was a tribute to the farmers in recognition of their contribution to our Nation during its 200th anniversary.
I played the record as part of my tribute to my dad and all the farmers at my eulogy for my dad at his funeral.
It still brings tears to my eyes.

The second song 'Black Land Farmer' by Frankie Miller is my usual selection when it's my turn to sing in group jam sessions.
