1945 Allis B PTO

I have a 1945 Allis B with a 1 1/8 PTO. I want to install an overriding 1 1/8 to 1 1/38 PTO adaptor. My PTO shaft does not have a grove or hole to secure the overriding clutch. Is there one made with a clamp to secure the adapter to the PTO shaft?

Thanks,
Wayne

I've never seen a clamp on type ORC but that does not mean there are not any. You might be better off to find a complete PTO assembly that is the 1-3/8 and put it on and then an ORC

I have seen on this forum a few people have used the adapter ORC with no issues, however no one said anything about securing it to the 1 1/8 PTO shaft.

Thanks,
Wayne

There probably is a hole - its just filled with dirt and grease. There has to be something to hold the PTO shaft from the implement.

Gotta be a hole somewhere. As for holding an implement PTO on, that the groove in a spline. Take a nail and scratch along the splines, bet you find one.

Thanks for all of you for your input. I will check for a hole today when I get to the shop where the tractor is located. I will let you know .

On my Case VC with 1 1/8 PTO to secure it I use a standard size adapter and drilled and tapped the center of the PTO for 5/16 bolt and has worked great. Use the center of the adapter for a drill and tap guide.

I found the hole in the PTO shaft. I guess I didn't check it close enough since I never used the PTO. My Dad had a side mower with a large pulley on the PTO to drive the mower shaft. When I removed the pulley several years ago I didn't remember seeing a hole, but it was there.

Thanks again for the help,

Wayne
