Hello. Gas 2010. Fires up instantly, dies as soon as key goes from start, to run. If I run the starter for a few extra seconds, ignition catches and tractor runs fine. Any help appreciated. Thank you.

Put a test light or volt meter on the ignition side of the coil to ground.

Turn the ignition switch on, see if you have power to the coil. Try turning the ignition switch slightly, see if the voltage drops or fluctuates.

If no power to the coil, look for an ignition resistor, usually a white ceramic block in the wire going to the coil. See if there is voltage coming to that.

If no voltage to the resistor, check the ignition switch and the wire from the switch to the resistor.

If voltage to the resistor but not to the coil, replace the resistor.

That tractor uses same engine as the 45 combine and in that situation there is no resistor. This situation has been covered on here before but I forget what remidy was. But it is not actually runningas being cranking. It is only getting spark to run after starter is out of system and engine spinning yet with enough momentum to keep on cranking a bit after the ignition system can put the power to the innation and then start tractor. I think it was said switch.
