I am trying to find a way to reduce the number of times someone gets out of the tractor and has to manhandle a heavy tongue on a loaded gravity wagon. Yes, I know there are $400 automatic hitches. What about the ones that use to be on the back of corn pickers and forage choppers?? Maybe the Tisco brand model RDH102 ? RDH102 stands for Red Dog Hitch. Probably all of the farm stores use to sell them like Tractor Supply. Sort of plate steel jaws that would hold the hitch pin and then open when you pulled the rope. You could also back into the jaws and they would slam shut. Would this type of hitch pull a wagon with 325 bushels of corn OK???? Mainly out of the field and down the road 1/2 to a mile. I wouldn't be pulling a wagon to town. They seemed to work fine behind pickers and forage choppers. Thanks.
