Westendorf Hitch-n-go - how it works?

A few days ago someone mentioned I should try a Westendorf Hitch-n-go automatic hitch on my tractor. Believe the writers dad had sold the patent on it. Had some questions. Do you have to be spot on to lower the hitch pin? Are there no guides? What is the safety release part for? Are they easy to use and operate? What if you raise the 3 point on the tractor too high and the pin is in the draw bar? Are people using them or are they a hassle? Anything else I should know? Thanks.

Safety release is so you cannot lower it with hitch pin in so it cannot drop while pulling down the road. We had one when we used wagons and it is bilt heavy and worked well.

Hey Andy, I was the one who mentioned the Hitch-N-Go. The one's around the farm were all the early models and look alot different than the current production models. Give Westendorf a call with your questions. Grain karts with the need for PTO kind of killed the sales of them. Email me if I can answer anything else.

This is a picture of the first one made by Westendorf, lots of changes over the years. I see now they make them to use with a kart with a PTO.
