LA Case Carburetor

Does anyone know off hand size and threading of the brass bolt that secures choke cable on LA CASE carburetor I want to install a choke cable to operator station but bolt is missing and installs from inside between body and lever hoping not to have to remove carburetor and split to install a bot but also don’t want to damage threads with wrong bolt. Thanks for help Paul

Situations like that I go to hardware and get an assortment very close to what might fit. Get sizes on both sides of the correct one, and keep the ones that don't fit. Over time you'll be able to avoid all those trips. In the case of brass, be careful, it is weak.

Let's assume for an example that it is a Marvel Schebler carburetor. Could a guy not bet that it would be the same
thread/bolt that is on most other MS carbs? Surely there must be other old tractors around that a guy could sabotage
temporarily?

A Case model LA would have originally had a Zenith K6A carb, #6799, or#8714. I don't have a K6 handy, but just checked a K5, and it looks like the choke connection was a clevis arrangement. The holes in the lever are bored through, and not threaded. This doesn't help you much, though. The upside is, it's easy to remove the bottom elbow without removing the carb body. You may have to manufacture something. If it's been converted to a Marvel Schenker, it's an easy fix. Good luck. unc

the carburetor is a zenith casting number 6799 it has a brass casted lever on end of choke shaft with a hole below the shaft with an eye that goes to the front of tractor with a 1/8” rod to pull when hand cranking and above choke shaft has a ferrule riveted in eye a hole perpendicular for choke cable wire to pass through and threaded end for bolt on inside of lever against carb body guess carb coming off so can take butterfly off shaft and remove to make repairs thanks for help really appreciate Paul
