atv tire recomendations

My JD Buck 4 wheeler is getting ready to need some new tires. The originals are pretty well shot. I've been looking around and found out I haven't heard of any of these name brands. The atv gets used for work not play so I want a good all around tire. I don't go through a lot of mud with it. Just the pasture after if rains but if it's that muddy I stay out unless I have to. Not much of a problem this year. It does go down a rock road quite a bit. I use it to pull trees with. I know quality tires in this day and age are basically impossible to find and prices are all over the place. I was curious if anyone thought a particular brand was better than others.

Still running the original car lisels on the back of mine misspelled on purpose they were a pretty decent tire I thought as far as traction and 14 years isn?t a bad life either I hated them on the front I?ve road that thing home with a flat steer tire more than once I replaced them with some dirt tamer tires they have a lot of tread but they don?t wear well on pavement which I ride on quite a bit but they were cheap they aren?t a bad tire just really soft I think when I do it again I?ll get something like was on it originally just thicker than the 1 ply rating

Yeah, my fronts are completely shot. The rears aren't as bad. I would like to keep matching tires though. I haven't had any complaints from these tires and would replace with identical tires. Problem is I don't think they make them anymore. I've found the fronts but not the rears anyway.

amazon just bought fronts for 75 a pair free delivery bear claw brand but they have a lot of sets on there

Internet is full of them. I usually use ebay because of great prices, usually free shipping......"fast and free", and usually 2 days from ordering the tires being on my doorstep..... and I don't worry about CC security.

I've been using ATV tires on my lawn mowers to get a soft ride. Some come with stiff sidewalls and 30 psig rating and the ones I like come with 5 psig, 360# rating with soft sidewalls.....specify 15 psig max for bead seating. Ply ratings are 2 and 4 but that doesn't necessarily mean a stiff sidewall for a 4 ply. When you see a 30 psig rating (not max to seat pressure) sidewalls are stiffer and ride is harsher regardless of ply rating.

Take these for example: https://www.ebay.com/itm/2PK-22x11-8-22-11-8-22x11-00-8-Golf-Go-Kart-ATV-Tire-4PLY-P322-Dimple-Knobby/361564940236?_trkparms=aid%3D111001%26algo%3DREC.SEED%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20160727114228%26meid%3D12f93b37b9384f56a7d7580be5a2167c%26pid%3D100290%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D4%26mehot%3Dag%26sd%3D361564940236%26itm%3D361564940236&_trksid=p2060778.c100290.m3507...............

I have two pair. I deliberately bought the 8" wheel size replacing the OEM 10 and 12" wheel sizes on my ZTs because the balloon area is much larger and when you hit a bump you have a larger volume of air to compress so it compresses less and the ride is softer. The ZTs weigh over 1000# plus my weight so the 360 @5 psig doesn't work. I run them at 10 psig and get a good "spongy" ride yet I have enough sidewall strength at that pressure to run up and down my 30* pond banks at whatever angle I choose. The studs do the best for traction on hills over bar lug and more aggressive (ATV usage types) yet if you don't get carried away doing ZTs in your lawn, you can mow without tearing up your turf.

In all I probably have bought over a dozen sets of tires for mowing machines of various brands, from numerous sources (everybody doesn't stock what I'm looking for) and all are first class tires, no gripes, no returns, no problems.

There are 6 ply, stiff sidewall, aggressive tread tires out there too. Just depends on what you are looking for.

Few years ago I bought Mud Hog ATV tires from Tucker Tire to put on several garden tractors, good price and they really get a bite but they are 6 ply and not much flex to them.

Get some Swamp Fox tires.

I bought some Goodyear tires for the rear of my 4 wheeler. Happy with them and the price was good too.
