Calculating distance

Does anybody know of an app or something where you can stand somewhere, take a reading, then go to a second point, take a reading, and it tells you the distance between the points. Need to know some distances that I can't measure on the ground.

I have an app on my cell phone that will do that. I think it is called "speedometer". It WILL show your speed also. Only issue I have with it is that it measures in meters instead of yards, but that can be converted.

Googlemaps.com

Right click on the map. Box will come on screen. Click on "measure distance"
You can drag the "0" point to where you want it.
