I have a Kubota cab tractor and the plastic top is cracked. What is the material and way to repair it without buying a new top. The cost about a thousand dollars. Thanks in advance Amo

aybe get a fibre glass repair kit??? haed to say with out seeing it ....

my Kubota canopy has a bunch of metal strapping splints. I had a crack in the hood of a snowmobile. One dealer did auto repairs in addition to their snowmobile business, and they had a kit for repair of plastic car panels. It consisted of some plastic cloth and a two part resin, IIRC.

There is a product called Plastifix, (around $35.00) that you mix powder with resins that is made to fix cracks and breaks in plastic. I had to fix the hood on my kubota and it was recommended to me by my local dealer and with a bit of patience the stuff worked great.

If you are just trying to cover the crack so it doesn't leak, google 'eternabond tape'. It is used in the rv industry, comes in different widths, vinyl with a very sticky back. I have used it on a couple seams on my rv with success.

Well if it is anything like the John Deere plastic lawn mower parts so far I have not found any glue that will hold to it. I used perforated steel and heat it up and melt it right into the panel to repair/reinforce the cracked area. If you could get the correct type plastic then a plastic welder might then seal it up.

Get some of that tape they advertise on TV that'll stall a Locomotive. So much for these newer tractors being around 40 or 50 years from now, plastic doesn't stand the test of time.
