hard start runs fine

All of a sudden my 9N is giving me a hard time starting but after it runs for a minute or two it runs fine.........What on earth could that be........?

I forgot to add I have the twelve volt conversion with the Pertronix igniter so it isn't the points

Do some simple trouble shooting.
#1 make sure you have a good blue white spark at all the plug wires that jump a 1/4 inch gap or more.
#2 pull the carb drain plug and make sure you have a steady flow of gas that will fill a pint jar in less then 3 minutes. Catch the gas to look for water/dirt etc.
#3 when was the last time you serviced the air cleaner and dumped the water and mud and filled with fresh oil.
#4 pull the air intake hose off the carb and hold your hand over the intake and make sure you have a good suction there and also you should get gas on your hand.
#5 pull the spark plugs and make sure there on fouled out by sooty or oil.
My self I have switched to NKG3112 spark plugs since the last auto lite and champs I got fouled fast

Does the choke plate close completely?

nothing has changed with the choke.......since it started fine.

In the first minute or two, it runs bad?

Any symptoms, smoke (black, white, blue), miss fire, smells?

Thank you for that.........I needed a game plan....I'm also going to check the in line fuel filter
