Vermont Castings Defiant...about 20 years old. Burns 24/7 in the winter months, we only let it go out to clean about half way through the season.

My grandfather built this for my parents when I was born 35 years ago. My mother gave it to me for my garage last year. The top small cylinder has a blower.

I have had this over 30 years. It's called a round Oak, and is fairly old. Except for a couple portable heaters this is my main source for heat. The cat likes it.Stan

some great looking stoves. That's one thing I miss with the outdoor wood burner. Nothing like just sitting watching a fire.

RANT, WE HAD a very good, old , Reading Stove Works, Like a heavy, cast iron, caboose stove, for many years. Anyone of authority, who looked at our installation, said GOOD, OK. But the Insurance Company made us remove it, Because there wasn't, never was, An Underwriters Lab. tag on it.

I have had a Country stove for the last 18 years and before that I had a Buck stove for 30 years and took it out of service after finding a number of cracks.

This was made by Cenergy about 30 years ago and is no longer in production. Weighs about 500 lbs and burns super clean. Made of concrete and tiles. Holds the heat well after the fire has gone out.

A Drolet, made in Quebec, a good stove for the money, heats our small cabin very well.

A Lopi in our son's cabin, good stove, more money!

A Lopi insert in an old fireplace in our son's house, works well.

An Eco-fan on top of our Jotul, I don't have a better picture of the stove!

Hearthstone soapstone stove.
Cleanest burning stove I've ever used.
Installed in the fall of 2006 and I have not had to clean the chimney once.
I burn just about 3 full cords of dry well seasoned wood per year.

Mine is a Shelter. I have a 2,400 s.f. 125 year old house, all remodeled, but still not insulated like a new one, but this stove will heat it no problem. Doesn't matter if it's 25 below zero, she'll still keep it whatever temp I want in here, I try to keep it around 72? though. Burns more wood when it's real cold, but I don't care how much wood it uses, as long as the house is warm. It's actually pretty efficient for how big it is. I have full ductwork to every room and hallway, and have it tied right into the ductwork, along with a whole house humidifier to keep things from getting too dry. Have it installed in my basement.

I used this to heat my house until I added on. It's a Vermont casting and could heat me out of the 1000 SF at some pretty cold temps. Lol when my wife moved in she was used to sitting around with a sweatshirt on at her apartment.

I now use an indoor wood boiler to heat the place it is piped to a 530 gallon tank I salvaged from a tear out at work. The whole set up works perfectly and I can actually let the fire go out and run off of storage on mild days.
