Like throwing a switch.

Christmas night, last night, just before midnight I was listening to the radio. Tuned across a little of the band and listened to one or two Christmas songs. THEN the clock struck Midnight. Every station except the mood music station out of Philadelphia went snap!!!!! and everything went back to the usual garbage. Just like flipping a lite switch. Kinda shocked me.

I noticed that too!

Seems like last year they went on a couple days, can't really remember...

But one thing that hasn't gone away, the Christmas theme car commercials! GRRRRRR!

Local radio out of Peterborough, Ontario, has some American based feed , called Christmas across the nation. And it is still all Christmas music and stories as well as tributes to overseas workers and military personnel, all day Boxing Day.

Didn't heart my feelings!!! I got really-really sick of Christmas songs. Today my country station is back to playing something besides "I'll Be Home For Christmas" and " Baby It's Cold Outside" by every country artist out there.
Finally back to some good contemporary country music, with several newcomers hitting the play list.

I thought I knew or recognized most Christmas music, not any more, there seems to be a ton of new stuff. I guess it's OK but I don't know the song or the words.

Most stations are run by computers and what you hear is a feed by a third party programer with the local commercials, PSAs, and liners inserted by computers. It?s rare to see a live DJ on night, weekend or holiday shifts anymore. That said; Yes, a switch was thrown by a computer.

If they wouldn't start playing it 24/7 in November, then maybe everyone wouldn't be so sick of it by Christmas and they could run it a little while after. To me the Christmas season includes New Year's.
The station I usually listened to started playing wall to wall Christmas music the day before Thanksgiving! That's just plain WRONG!! I switched to a different station and do not plan to switch back!

Yip and the way things are going there will be Holliday commercials starting about July 6th next summer can?t call it Christmas anymore plus if we say Holliday we can start advertising earlier and see if we can?t commercialize Holliday a little more
