Two trips to license branch

I had to make two trips to license branch to get new driver's license. They said my 50 year old SS card wasn't valid. I had to get a tax document with my full SS # on it. Only document I could find with complete numbers came from SS telling me how much they paid me in 2017.

Glad that that's over with. Passed my vision test without glasses. Only had to read the top line.

Have any of you done this in only one trip?

When approaching the places of Motor Vehicle and personal license registration
in my province, always promise yourself that you will not let them get you annoyed.
Couple of day's ago (Dec.23/18)went in to there office to get registration for three trailer's, one tractor and ATV, time of day was 4:00 P.M. ,everything was completed in 20 minutes. I was quite happy. Cheers, Murray

I will have to say that SC has really improved their DMV offices. Much more efficient than they use to be.

Last Jan I had to renew mine. Walked in got in line and waited for about 20 minutes read the stuff for the vision test and walked out no problems. Class A CDL and the price had even came down a bit form the $50 I paid the time before

I had to take two bills with my address. My pink card only has address. I needed proof of SS#. Hard to get pay stubs when I've been retired for 15 years. No pay stubs with SS, direct deposited. Same with pension, direct deposit. I had to dig out last years taxes. Only document with SS was from SS. All the rest has some ID # or last 4 of SS.

Happy it's over.

Found out all states are required to do this by 2020 and 12 states haven't begun. Sounds like the nearest thing to a Federal license. Feds will have photo ID to go along with SS# and proof who you are.
Think this may help stop ID theft?

Your social security card and number is not a legal means of verifying identity. Does your new license have your SS number on it?

Years ago when I drove semi my license had my SS number on it, but not any more. Social Security Administration got that changed as I understand it.

We can get ours in the mail here, no fuss or hassle, one visit to the friendly Service Ontario folk with your renewal notice and old permit in hand, a swipe of the credit card and your done in less than 5 minutes.

Birth certificate and old driver's licence. I got the enhanced licence. $45 and now I can fly and visit Canada.

Yup, part of the Real ID deal. I forgot the SS card, so did not get the gold star on my license. Guess I might remember in 4 years. State didn?t have a problem issuing a non compliant license. I will just bring my passport when I fly, which is what I do anyway.

Never heard of such a thing. Ours is walk in, hand them your old one, take the eye test and your done. You can do it online as well.

The county that I live in has such a sparse population, I can't renew my CDL unless I drive two counties over. The CDL renewal notice said two bring two forms of ID, and I did have them, but wasn't asked to show them. Here's why: I get there, showed my current driver's license to the lady behind the counter, who appears to be about my age, and she asked me if I knew a "Jane Doe" in my home town. (My home town has a population of about 600, BTW) I told her that I DO know her cousin and told her that her cousin is two years younger than me. The examiner then asked me about the dances that her cousin Jane Doe used to always go to. I told her: "Yep, they used to have dances at the American Legion hall every Saturday night and your cousin Jane Doe used to bring all of her female cousins." The examiner than told me that she was one of the cousins that always came to my home town dances with Jane Doe.
I then said: "Do you know something really scary? I probably danced with you a lot back in those days!"
After I said that, she never asked me for any more forms of ID.

At least you was able to do it in one day.
Takes me several weeks to get a drivers license.
First I have to go and get my fingerprints taken then wait for the federal background check to come back.
Then and only then can I go in to the DMV and take the eye and written test so I can get my license.

Did mine about a month ago. Went online to see what I needed and did it in one trip no problem.

65 miles to get finger printed,no good, I need a Certified copy of the Birth Certificate, not the original. That was right at a hundred miles, then back to get fingerprinted,oh they will not take cash, two blocks to the Post Office for a money order. This took two days,(I was on the way to Red Power) and then over to the test site for the written hazmat,15 miles. Then 20 miles to the drivers license office for the eye test, and register the physical. Right at $450.00. 13 months from now it will be time to do it again. The truck was $62.00 and I got a new plate this time,Mo is passing out new plates for a couple of years.(One trip and 15 min wait.)

My residence is Arizona and I went to work at a job in Montana. I went to the MVD to register my truck with temporary tags because I was going to be there for awhile. Walked in, told the woman behind the counter what I wanted. She looked at me and said sorry, The computers are down. There is nothing I can do. I asked her if she couldn't do it with a pencil. She said that they don't do that anymore.

Gambles ...... so you are leaving us hanging at the counter with your story. Are you going to finish it for us?

It's baby steps to the mark of the beast and one world government. Will you take the mark or have your head chopped off?
