Nice day for a tractor ride

The 4020 has been sitting at the last job I did since the first of December it fired right up after a battery swap and a vice grip to make the broken battery clamp get a connection took it over to a friends shop so I can put the right battery boxes back on and replace the battery cables and a few other maintenance items . It was about an hour drive to the shop went by where my cows winter they?re still on corn stocks and looked pretty good from the road I?ll go ride through em in a few days

I had to go put my coat on.....it sure looks cold up there, I like the pictures, Thanks for posting, Dsmythe
 
That vise grip gets the job done why fix it? Just joking. I am considering changing my batteries to studs as they go bad, so much easier.
 
Looks like a great drive SV,the 4020?s are really nice looking tractors,one of my favourite old green coats for sure
 
Looked like a nice day for a ride for sure. I am sure the old 4020 appreciated it to.I burn corn for heat and once a month I have to go get corn, usually a nice trip, 10put and 10 back.
 
IF you change to the stud top batteries you will never regret it. Also you can then get rid of those bolted on ends that cause a big resistance in the cables.
 
Those bolt on ends are junk I?ll tell you that . The local cnh dealer used to make battery cables they would crimp the ends on with hydraulic hose machine and they were dang nice cables . I?m going to search around and see where the best ones are now these came from John Deere in 2003 but I still had that 24 volt system and If a cable gets loose at all you?ll melt the ends in about one second
 
It was about 19 degrees but no wind and it was a
pretty nice drive . Luckily I had road fuel in the tank
and it was blended plus a little power service it?s
been just about a month since I?ve had it running
last
 
I sure like this one it?s been good to me over the years . Time to give back to her a little bit and make it look like a tractor again
