Remove and replace stanadyne fuel pump??

Im new to this site. I need some help with a 1979 580 C case mechanical backhoe. Ive looked at some videos about this. But didnt get what I needed. Okay the throttle shaft is leaking on the stanadyne pump. I have worked on equipment before on the railroad. So I think I can do this job. But if I cant get some ideas, I might have to have it done. I want to take the pump off and have it rebuilt. But it says its tricky because of some seals putting it back on. I need a video of the pump being removed and then being put back on with out messing it up. HELP

Main thing is to align the pump timing marks under the two screw side cover BEFORE removing it. There are two shaft umbrella seals, rear one can be trouble, even with the seal compressor tool. The brass pilot tube in repaired pumps I use have a different angle making the pump go on much easier. Good chance there's more wrong inside your pump that's causing the throttle leak. Just finished and tested an IH 856 pump for the same trouble. E-mail is [email protected] if you have more questions.

James I will recommend Diesel tech and he is very reasonable on his repairs. I have had him do things for me.

Also Al Baker(pumpman) posts on here and he does good work too. Several friends have had him do work. Reasonable and good too.

Yter posters are fortunate to have fellows like these two help us on here.

To add one thing to what Dieseltech has posted. Disable the engine so no one can turn it over. I have had that done to me a few times.
Makes for a waste of time.
