Moving a massive load by truck .....

This is happening as I write this post .... started yesterday (Sunday) afternoon and I think will finish up later this evening. Now I know that some of the truckers here have moved stuff much larger (joking) but this is still pretty big, about as long than a Canadian football field so that is 110 yards, and I think one news report said that over 300 tires/wheels were on the trailers in total. After you click on the link and move down, there is one video of the vessel at it's fabrucatuib site and then later on several viewers have posted their own videos of the unit as it moves. It passed by just a couple of miles east of me here yesterday. Must have been something to see, here ya go ....

Caught that on Global news this morning. Have seen similar vessels come up here in the northeast on hwy junction 55 and 63,the first ones through created quite a stir. They would overnight at the turnoff.

Many of their players come from the US, and the metric/English conversion is above their pay grade.

We use yards because we can't afford to mark off the fields in metric. We spent too much money on the earlier metric conversions into Kilometers, Litres, and Kilograms. Plus the fact that meters are more expensive than yards because our dollar isn't worth much. The fields up here are not only ten yards longer but also about 11 yards wider. The end zones are ten yards deeper than down south. The reason for that is we only have 36 million people up here instead of 360 million down there, so there is more room for bigger fields.

(quoted from post at 07:59:55 01/07/19) Thought you fellows were so big on metrics why are your football fields marked off in yards?
110 yards (US) is appx. 100 meters.

I never knew Canadian football fields were a different size.
Heck, I didn't even know Canadians knew [i:85a9141591]how[/i:85a9141591] to play football. *lol*

maybe it would have made more sense to say the length in terms of hockey rinks!

Sure, we can do that. So say 110 yards long or 330 feet. Most NHL rinks are 200' long so about 1 2/3 rinks in length. I
think football fields sound more impressive.

They don't.....just ask Warren Moon.

Rick

Did they report on what its maximum speed will be? Doesn't look safe to drive over 3 MPH.

Rick ..... well you're probably right, we're more than a few steps behind you guys with football ....... but if you read the
link below you will see we were light years ahead in other areas. You wouldn't have ever heard about him if it were not for
the CFL. Here ya go Rick .....
