neighbor and I trade hay for corn, he has all hay ground and I have corn and bean ground. Iget about a semi load a week of hay for both places, got cattle on two farms also hogs.raise feder pigs on both farms the hay took up to much ground and expensive equipment and then all the labor and barns to store hay in. lot easer to raise corn for me. when I clean the barns and barn lots of manure he takes it all back on his ground, so I don't have to mess with the weed seed on my fields, anybody else trade things to keep cost down?

I traded hay for horses to a guy that worked in a carpet place. He bought the material at his price and installed for free. It was all left over pieces so the store had no problem with him doing it on the side. Got the whole house done for under a $1000, including some laminate floor he installed for me and some sub flooring I had to buy. It was his wife that had the horses and I got my flooring done just in time before she found out he had a girl friend on the side and divorced him.

I think I'll be trading labor on a trailer build for part if the labor on my house repairs. This guy has 2 of my trialers now that he got the same way. I'm hoping to make a deal with some of the local Amish to trade labor getting my hay and straw in the barn in exchange for some hay and straw. I'm all in favor of trading rather than paying cash when I can.

I'm trading labor for a nice big black heifer that's due to calve in about a month from my cousin. Also on a 16 foot gooseneck trailer, or another older cow depending on another trade between him and another individual we bale hay for. I like to trade if it works out for all involved. It's easier than coming up with extra cash.
