Closer Look At The Bison

I was loading grain to haul to the cleaning plant this morning when the bison herd came up to the fence to have a closer look at what I was doing. So I got some video and pictures. I'm between trips right now so might be working late to finish. Nice but cool weather in the 30s. Little bit of snow, some mud, but not bad for the time of year.

I am liking the color scheme on your truck. As a Case dealer we had several in Desert Sunset and Flambeau, and various other Case colored trucks over the years. I even drove a Red sales truck for several years.
Red is far from being my favorite color.

That must have been a IH standard color the neighbor had one just exactly like that maybe someday had a crystal ball 🔮 and knew case and IH would become the same company so they thought they would paint some trucks in Case colors . Actually knowing how IH bought parts to build those trucks they may have bought some cheap leftover Case paint

I have seen a number of pastures that have only 4 strands of barbed wire and lots of buffalo with no problem keeping them in. A friend had about 800 head, just don't let them get hungry. Bottom wire can be higher up as calves wont crawl under like a beef calves. Mama buffalo keep a close watch on the calves.

Thanks for the compliments on the Loadstar folks. Its been a great old truck for me and I've only ever seen one other with that paint scheme. I only wish I had cleaned it up a little for today's photos and video. Those bison are actually quieter and less skittish than my own cattle. They came back again when I went for the second load. That wire is higher than it looks. Close to six feet.

When snowmobiling in Yellowstone 18 yers ago, one wanted to get on my sled. He walked up to within five feet.

(quoted from post at 18:50:30 03/28/19) Those old load stars are some of the best trucks ever built
Over 119,000 miles on this one and my only regret is not swapping in a 392 instead of getting the little 304 rebuilt about 25 years ago.
