Homemade graduation present

My niece is graduating high school this year. She's really into semi trucks. I had no idea what to get her so I made something. I used some semi emblems I had collected and bought some others. I don't have the craftsmanship ability many on this site have but I don't think it turned out to bad. I haven't gotten the White Mustang hood ornament mounted yet.

Unless someone tells me I'm wrong I believe it was a late 40s early 50s White Mustang truck model.

I like it. IT would be cute with the KW on a sort of hood that pulled open to see the others inside like opening the hood the engine.

That is extremely cool. Where did the wood come from? I thought maybe you milled it.

That will be a very special gift from you. Did you leave room on the base for some small scale model trucks.

Way to go.

Kansas, you really out-did yourself! That's awesome!! It's original, sentimental, VERY thoughtful, decorative, original, etc, etc... Don't even for a moment think that anyone else out there could have done any better. Looks absolutely amazing to us!!

Dont sell yourself so short on your craftsmanship you did a Great Job. Very nice work. Your niece is going to Love it.

I dug through every oak board Menards had on hand to find the best I could. Yeah I left room for her small semi toys. It got bigger than I planned but it's not even close to big enough to hold all the truck models she has.

Yes, no, possibly maybe. She definitely wants to learn to drive a semi. She keeps hearing about self driving trucks and is concerned she'll be out a job eventually. I told her I just can't picture it but no one can predict the future. Things I never thought possible are common place now. I told her if she wants to, start out driving then try to work her way up the company. We'll always need trucks to deliver necessities.

Thanks everyone. I'm more of a functional person. I can usually rough things together and make it work. Making it look pretty isn't really my strong suit.

Awesome!👍 what is white frieghtliner? Iv never heard of that, just frieghtliner, maybe that was early years.

In the 50s and 60s White and Freightliner teamed up to make cab overs. In the early 70s they split.
