1983 IMT 539 - PTO Leak

I recently bought a 1983 IMT 539 tractor. I have liked it so far and glad that I have bought it. However, I noticed fluid leaking out of the back where the PTO shaft is located. I have a question regarding fixing these types of leaks. Is it safe to assume it needs a new o-ring on the seal bushing? That is what I am thinking but I guess I will not know until I remove the shaft. Also, are there any other gaskets, seals, etc...that would be best to replace or typically fail, while I have the PTO shaft removed?

This is the first time I have worked on a PTO shaft. I see there is a seal on the seal bushing, do these fail regularly?

Thanks,
Jarrod

Isn't that the MF 35 lookalike that was built in (The former) Yugoslavia? There were quite a few kicking about in The UK some years ago. I am not sure if an MF 35 PTO seal kit would work in your tractor but I
seem to recall the biggest problem people found with those was Ye Olde Massey 35 used imperial threads whereas the IMT had nuts and bolts, studs, etc. that were metric! so maybe the seals, bearings, etc. on
The IMT were metric too?

Check the bearings as well. Even if good, try to get numbers off the bearings for if you have to replace later on.

I replaced bearings on my old Pasquali many years ago. Was very little left of the originals when I got done, but the bearing store was able to set me up with replacement parts. If there's ANY slop in the PTO shaft, just replace the bearings as well....before there's nothing left of 'em.
