What is the best masonary drill bit brand that you fells have had good experience with?? I need a good 3/8 inch bit that will drill a hole in a cement tile cover. thanks

No, you might get better response on tool talk! I have a HF hammer drill with their bits that drill concrete and stone very well, but I'm not sure what a cement tile cover is. Is it concrete, or clay tile, or ceramic tile? A hammer drill might shatter either clay tile or ceramic.

If you want precision and low chance of breaking stuff. Go look on Ebay for diamond masonary bits. These can be used dry but work and last much better with a dribble of water running on them. I use them to cut through glass and ceramic tiles. Take your time and they cut a beautifully smooth hole. They come from tiny ones for very small work up to stuff big enough to drill through a building. Check the photos.

When I needed some masonry bits for drilling holes in the floor of my basement, I went to my local lumber/hardware store. I don't remember the brand name, but they were very good bits. Only problem was when I hit some rebar. Masonry bits are no match for steel.

Take a punch and tap with a hammer to take the glaze off of the surface. I use hilti drill and bits. They may be able to be rented, but for only a hole or 2 about any bit and hammer drill will do the job.

Don't feel alone! And for the record, I find your posts, regardless of what they are about or what forum they are on, to be informative and interesting. I appreciate the time you take to post, including the time to take and post photos.
