We have flash floods in the forecast for tonight. It doesn't sound too serious, but two years ago today we had a system park and dump 20" of rain that caused serious flooding. With all the new rooftops, driveways and roads, the water comes up fast. I decided to move everything that doesn't require dragging with a chain across the road to higher ground. Might save me from doing it in waist deep water in the pouring rain, like Christmas Eve 2013. Tractors need a bath, anyway.

Nice-looking lineup you have there. Good thing to think ahead.

Only place we have any grass greening up is by the south side of the house. Still have little pockets of snow trying to melt away. No rain here, yet it's flooding all around us. Usually we're ankle-deep in water as well.

Dec 27th 2015 I had one of the worst floods I have even seen here. Many of the old timers said they had never seen or heard of having floods in Dec. let alone as bad as it was. In the last few years we have had more floods then in the many years before. I have lived where I am since July of 1980 and in Oct. of 86 we had a bad one and while we have had a few minors ones the worst have happened since 2015 and on to now. I was going to go out to check for eggs but a down pour has me her instead

It's been cool and cloudy all day, so I don't think we will have strong storms. If the sun comes out this afternoon and heats it up, all bets are off.

That's a good idea, makes me glad I live on top of a hill. I remember Christmas of 13 well, we had 4 first calf heifers up in the barn at the bottom of the hill. By 10 that morning the creek below the house was out and nearly to the barn, so I drove them up the hill and 2 calved in the orchard that night. Lost a few bales of hay stacked in the barn, and of course the water gap, but I counted myself lucky compared to others. I hope we don't get another beating like that this week, but it sure don't look good for the home team.
