Does anyone rent out their antique tractors for weddings or other events? Just curious as I was thinking about doing it. operator would come with it of course. Trying to figure out contractual details if needed and how to charge for it.

We advertised ours on Facebook. No
interest.....I thought it was a
great idea. Most venues have event
insurance that covers everything.
Adds $100 to rental cost. We
thought for country theme weddings
they would make a great photo
background...... Check out our ad
,you should be able to find it
easy it's in Central AL. Did you buy that Oliver??

In 2016 we (the neighbor an I) had 2 weddings on consecutive weekends. WE got all ours tractors lined up and left them out for about 2 weeks. Drew a lot of interest at the weddings and people were stopping all week long to look at them. My guess is: getting someone to pay for a tractor or 2 would be difficult. If they want a tractor theme, they will rent the venue and it will come with the tractors.

I would be worried about all the kids climbing all over it, and putting feet on all the controls and pushing them till they either break or bend. Then they fall off getting off and the parents sue you. I see the first part all the time on my neighbor and his kids. Then he comes to me saying he doesnt know why all the controls are bent, broken or wrecked.

This is a fairly residential area. My neighbor has 30 acres and hasn't farmed it for 25 years. The rest are 3 to 5 acres (I have 3). Surprisingly, no one asked about a sale.

Someone mentioned insurance ..... liability insurance is the big thing of course and I would never depend on some other person
or group "telling me" (verbally or in writing) that I'm covered by their policy. Just think of the weirdest thing that could
possibly happen and then realize that it could. I'd have my own coverage or some kind of a written document from the other
party's insurance company confirming that you are covered. Once that's in place, go for it.

Actually ...talk to your farm insurance agent. Have him put a rider on your policy. Should not be very much money. Plain and simple.

I've lent mine out a couple times that I recall. Once or twice for a hay ride, or to pull a parade unit. In all cases it has been a driver I know and trust and it has been for a worthwhile cause. Other times I have driven it myself. I've never charged for it, although I may have gotten a gratuity or two.

Usually any wedding photos I've seen have involved a family tractor and the people involved just handled it themselves.

Well I ve had a couple people contact specifically wanting to rent one for a wedding to "ride off". Not worried about liability of kids and such. We do have insurance covered. One venue is over an hour away. Just trying to see if anyone has done this and how they handled it. If a contract was used and how much would I even charge for such. I don t know the people who have asked so I d definitely have to get some compensation for fuel, time, etc

I have a wagon for people that I built for my daughters wedding, and I have loaned it out to a restaurant that has a fall event the past few years and they pull with a steam engine there. I have been asked this year to pull a group in the homecoming parade. I spent a fair amount of time building this and all heavy angle iron that the wood is bolted too. on it's madden voyage it got tested well large group with full beer coolers. but I do this only for people I know and most I get out of the deal is a free meal.

Check with your insurance guy. I have a separate policy on the tractors I show, different from the farm policy on the ones I use. Maybe borrow a wagon from your local county fair. And have a blast doing it, but drive it yourself.
