A friend is looking at some for odd jobs he has. What do the older 2 wheel drive open station ones bring around you? Seems price and condition are all over the place and many are worn out. He has me helping him look.

The good news is overall the advent of the mini excavator has brought down loader backhoe prices. That being said they have made loader backhoes for over 70 years now so there's a wide range of prices and condition. What machines are you looking at?

It would be easier if we had some type of budget to use. You can find old Case 530s that are pretty beat for $2000-2500. You can find pretty good Ford 555s 2wd for around the $10k range. Cat and Deere usually run higher but parts are easier to find as they are more popular. So there are more after market parts out there.

Bought my Ford 4500 about 10 years ago for about $5200. Had new rear tires. Spent about a grand for all new hoses and rebuilding some pins and bushings. Changed the carb from Holley to a Zenith for
about $300 from this site. Runs excellent now.
