Sickle mower Knife breakage

I?ve had problems before that seemed impossible to solve check check and recheck finally give in that something isn?t right and it?ll come to you these charts are simple but you?d be surprised how often they?re right
 
Well, at least you are saying "sickle" and "knife", 'cause when the "bar" breaks it's a whole lot worse!
 
When I started to have breaking issues with my JD 1219 mower, I found a worn pin that connected the pittman arm to the bar. Replaced with a new pin, never broke a bar again. And yes, it was actually breaking the bar, the part that the sections rivet to.

Actually, DEERE calls that the "knife" or the "knifeback.

The "bar" is the thing the GUARDS bolt to.
 
When I refer to a broken bar I am referring to the sliding bar that the sections are bolts to or riveted to. Some may thing the heavy bar the guards bolt to but not in my case
