JD G front end shimmy

Inspect all of the components for slop and wear but I'll bet ya to check the toe of your wheels first and also all of the tierods etc. Also, is your steering box tight with no play if possible. The guys will tell you more.

Bent wheel will do that as well. I would guess most of the tractors have one or both front wheels bent. Also thrust bearing at bottom. But could be something as simple as nut that holds gear on top could be loose.

Eccentric bushing in top of casting could be loose .our A shimmied bad.looked and it was loose.back in 65 our j.d. Dealer had a factory reamer and a reclmation bushing. Charged us 35 dollars to fix it . We took assembly off, they rest the worm gear to the gear on the shaft.we put it back on filled it with 140 wt gear oil and its still fine today

The eccentric bushing on top of the front end assembly needs adjusted. Take the nose cover off, Then there will be a cover held on by 4 bolts. Remove the cover, you will see the steering gear. Clean the grease out, then you will see a screw head below the gear. Remove that screw, turn the eccentric bushing and reinstall the screw. Some people have luck running 1 front tire with lower air pressure also.

This video starts to give you some idea where to look. Now this is just plain funny to watch. She is messing up here coated finger nails to boot!! Notice how her hands keep getting clean and she isn't wearing any vinyl glo es. Just watch it and then look at your own green thing. Any slop at all just goes crazy the faster you go. Try driving a 1967 Ford van down the hiway with a worn out steering box for excitement!!
