Need to replace the 8" burner switch on my 49 year old Hotpoint range.
Haven't been able to exactly match stove model number and switch number to any of the online part vendors.
Is the switch for the 8" burner different from the switch for the 6" burners?

Hotpoint model RS 736003 HT

Universal replacement controllers are acceptable and used for all burner sizes. Unless yours is wildly different, one of these should work, Robertshaw is OEM quality. Jim
some options

I agree with what he has posted. These infinity controls are used all over the place. The type pictured is the heavy duty model. White body. There are several types if you want to get really technical. There are 120volt for smaller systems. There are "or I have worked with" 208- 220-240 volt units. Measure your voltage and match the voltage or go one higher. If you need to replace "crimp" stake on connectors PLEASE buy the hi heat nickle steel type. Regular crimps will get too hot and eventually fail. The hitemp fittings really should be installed with a crimp tool thay rolls them together and not crush them. Hope i didnt go super technical, I just have worked with this stuff for years. The video shows ceramic wire nuts. These are super for hooking the wires for you burner. Look around on Utube there are tons of videos or get back to us with questions. Not that hard just do it right.
